A Time-Honoured Craft: Lost Wax Casting

The creation of this designer bronze table begins with the age-old technique of lost wax casting. The design is meticulously sculpted in wax, then carefully enveloped in clay and allowed to dry. Once prepared, the assembly is heated, melting away the wax, hence the name ‘lost wax.’ The void left within the clay is then filled with molten bronze, resulting in a raw casting. Afterward, a meticulous process of sanding, chasing, and finishing commences to transform the casting into the final, exquisite piece. Over time, a gentle patina develops, marking these as true heirlooms, enduring the test of time and passing down their story through generations.
